First Annual Children’s Festival!

July 6th, 2010

Place the weekend of July 24th and 25th on your calendar because things are going to be “happening” in Northwest Denver and Edgewater. Two events, side by side, occur with the time honored Dragon Boat Festival at Sloan’s Lake and now the first annual Edgewater Children’s Festival directly across Sheridan along W. 25th Ave. The new Children’s Festival is the brainchild of Edgewater Enterprise, the City of Edgewater’s business association, who is sponsoring and managing the event.

Bring the kids because that what the Children’s Festival is all about! There will be lots of fun activity including a kid’s carnival; horse rides; play areas including a tiny town and book center; stage with live acts, demonstrations and live music; educational exhibits; and vendors selling children’s goods, arts and crafts, food and drink. No one is going to be left wanting from this event!

The Festival begins in the large public lot on the corner of Sheridan and W. 25th with a kid’s carnival and continues west six blocks. West 25th remains open for three blocks west of Sheridan where easy access is still available for local restaurants and business. The street is then closed at Chase where the Festival takes over for three more blocks to Fenton. Within this three block stretch is more of the carnival, vendors and booths, tiny town, the stage and more. The festival is open each day from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Don’t miss-out on this unique opportunity to experience the thrill of dragon boat races, asian culture and accompanying family and children activity all in one package in Northwest Denver and Edgewater!
