Next Event; Celtic Harvest Festival Edgewater

August 4th, 2010

Edgewater is transforming to a mecca of frequent special event opportunities and “going-ons” with the Annual Children’s Festival in July, 5k Race in May, Concerts in the Park program during June, July 3rd Fireworks celebration, and now the Celtic Harvest Festival Edgewater, occurring the weekend of September 18 and 19 at Citizen’s Park. Saturday the Festival operates from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Festival is sponsored by the City of Edgewater and the Edgewater Arts Project.

The Festival is free event, which celebrates and shares the diversity of Celtic culture through the provision of music, arts, dance, farmers market, working village and plenty of children’s activities. There are even Flyball relay races, the world’s fastest growing dog sport. Authentic food and drink is also available.

Performance stages are already well booked with a full host of musicians and dance groups. One very popular and well known Colorado based group Ceol Ceili performing Saturday evening at 7:30 PM, is known for it’s diverse and eclectic music style, further enhanced by the celebration of drinking fine ales! Stone Walls is also performing, a Colorado based Irish Pub band who from all accounts, has a “kick-ass” fiddle player.

The Celtic Harvest Festival is recruiting volunteers to assist with the event. Find an online volunteer signup form at the Festival Web site.

This is one event you won’t want to miss!
